Jocelyn Steinke

Jocelyn Steinke’s research focuses on the influence of media images of women scientists and engineers on adolescent girls’ identification with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Steinke is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Connecticut.
She earned an A.B. in English and Biology from Mount Holyoke College, an M.P.S. in Communication from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
